With great joy, happiness, and proud humilitye we received the news that Etsivät / Detectives has been selected for Taidetestaajat 2026–27 season!

Etsivät / Detectives is a playful and surreal contemporary circus performance created by Race Horse Company in co-production with Circo Aereo. It follows two unconventional detectives as they investigate whimsical mysteries, like a bitten apple and a hungry filing cabinet, encountering absurd challenges and humorous situations along the way. Combining physical comedy with circus arts, the piece twists the classic detective genre into unexpected paths, inviting audiences into a surreal world where nothing is quite as it seems. The show premiered in autumn 2024 and has a running time of about 50–60 minutes, suitable for audiences aged 5 and up. The stage is taken over by the captivating and irresistibly intriguing Marc Gassot and Kalle Lehto.

Our warmest thanks to the jury members for their trust, to the Association of Finnish Children’s Cultural Centres for making the programme possible and funders the Finnish Cultural Foundation and the Swedish Cultural Foundation, which have committed to supporting the programme until summer 2027.

Taidetestaajat is Finland’s largest cultural education programme, offering all eighth-grade students in Finland and their teachers one to two visits per school year to experience high-quality art.
